About ErgoDesk
ErgoDesk exists because most desks are set up for the average person — and you are not the average person.
Generic ergonomic advice ("keep your elbows at 90 degrees!") fails in practice because it ignores the measurement that actually determines desk height: your elbow height while seated, which varies centimeters either side of every chart's assumption. The published anthropometric math is simple, and it fits the desk to your body in minutes.
The same is true of sit-stand desks (two presets, computed), monitor height (measured from your eye line, not guessed), and break timing (sit-stand research supports movement, not just standing). Every calculator shows its formula and its population assumptions.
We are educators, not equipment sellers. Nothing here earns a commission, and your body measurements never leave your browser.
What makes ErgoDesk different
- Your numbers never leave your browser. Every calculator on ErgoDesk runs entirely on your device. We never see, store, or transmit the figures you enter — there are no accounts and no server-side processing of your inputs.
- Published methodology. Each calculator page explains the exact formula it uses and the assumptions behind it, so you can check our work or reproduce it in a spreadsheet.
- Free, forever, without a paywall. ErgoDesk is supported by advertising. There is no premium tier, no email gate, and no upsell.
Independence
ErgoDesk is an independent educational project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government agency, lender, insurer, or the organizations whose formulas and public data we reference (such as published anthropometric data and OSHA/NIOSH ergonomics guidance). All trademarks and referenced standards belong to their respective owners.
